| VARIPaC is a Continuously variable voltage auto transformer with many distinct advantages. It is a simple but versatile tool in the hands of engineers and technicians. It provides a steplessly variable voltage output from the fixed input voltage. In turn all the derivatives of A.C. Voltage such as A.C. Current, D.C. Voltage & current, intensity of light & heat, speed of D.C. Motors etc. can be controlled effectively. Specifications Types and Models VARIPaC is identified by its output current rating which remains constant throughout its operating range. VARIPaCs are made in wide range of current and voltage suitable for 1 pH (240 V & 415 V) & 3 phase supply to cater the every need of industry.
Every VARIPaC comes with two alternative connections for input. In Line Voltage Connection max. output voltage is equal to input line voltage & in Over Voltage Connection, the max. voltage output is 12% above the input voltage. | CONSTRUCTION Open, flush or back of panel mounting, for using in panels. Encased; in aircooled sheet metal cabinets for using separately along with other equiupment Oilcooled for heavy duty industrial applications, particularly in dusty & corrosive atmosphere. VARIPaCs are basically meant for indoor applications. OPERATING MODE Manual, Where the output is varied manually by the knob provided on the shaft. Motorised: Brush arm driven by a drive motor coupled to the shaft. The drive motor used in slow speed, high torque, AC synchronus motor working on 230/240V, 1pH,50Hz supply. The drive motor is reversible, having instant start, stop and reverse characteristics. Standard timings for complete rotation available are 8, 15, 30 & 60 secs. Applications VARIPaC is useful in innumerable places wherever smooth variation of voltage and its derivatives is required. To list few:
VARIPaC is an auto transformer of special construction. It consists of a single layer winding on a torroidally wound core, made from high grade silicon sheets. A high grade carbon brush moves on a commutator surface formed on one side, by carefully peeling the insulation on wire and collects the current from winding. Brush makes contact with next turn, before leaving the previous one, thus maintaining the continuity. Load does not see any break in the circuit. Three Phase VARIPaCs are made by mounting 3 No. of 1 pH, units in tandom. A single knob fitted to a common shaft moves all the three brushes simultaneously. Salient Features
